The hospital was established 90 years ago by Dr. Y. Mahadeva Iyer. The village Derisanmacope is only 13 kms from the city of Nagercoil, the headquarters of Kanyakumari District, Tamilnadu, India. It is surrounded by paddy fields, ponds of lotus, flowers, groves of coconut palms, beautiful hills and cool breeze. The hospital is located in an ideal Ayurvedic atmosphere.
The hospital was established in 1920 by Dr.Y.Mahadeva Iyer, who was a highly acclaimed physician, as well as great sanskrit and vedic scholar. He loved Ayurvedic science and was a master in Ayurvedic Samhitas. This hospital continues to thrive under the expertise of the family members of Dr.Y.Mahadeva Iyer.
